Miles Kington

Miles Kington (1941–2008) was a British journalist, humorist, and columnist known for his dry, satirical style. He wrote for major UK newspapers including *The Times* and *The Independent*, and became widely read for his humorous commentary on everyday life and public affairs. Kington also produced comic “translations” and pastiches from French, using the form to parody cultural habits and official language. Alongside journalism, he published numerous books collecting his columns and sketches, and he appeared on radio as a contributor and panelist. His work is remembered for its wit, clarity, and gently subversive tone.
