Mira Nair

Mira Nair (born 1957) is an Indian-American filmmaker and director. She is known for films including *Salaam Bombay!* (1988), *Mississippi Masala* (1991), *Monsoon Wedding* (2001), and *The Namesake* (2006). Her work often explores family, migration, and cross-cultural experience, and has been recognized internationally. Nair has directed both fiction features and documentaries, and her films have screened widely at major festivals.
