Moby

Moby (born Richard Melville Hall, September 11, 1965) is an American musician, songwriter, and author. Raised in Connecticut, he began performing in the late 1980s and gained wider attention with the 1991 single “Go.” His 1999 album *Play* became a major commercial breakthrough, notable for its extensive use of licensed film and television placements and for sampling early blues recordings. He has released multiple studio albums and has also composed music for film and other media. As an author, he has published memoirs including *Porcelain: A Memoir* (2016) and *Then It Fell Apart* (2019).
