Nathan Wolfe

Nathan Wolfe is an American virologist and entrepreneur focused on emerging infectious diseases and pandemic prevention. He founded the Global Viral Forecasting Initiative (GVFI), a program aimed at detecting and tracking novel viruses, and later founded Metabiota, a company that works on epidemic risk assessment. Wolfe is the author of *The Viral Storm: The Dawn of a New Pandemic Age*, which discusses how new pathogens emerge and how outbreaks can be anticipated and contained. Through his research and public writing, he has advocated for earlier surveillance of zoonotic spillover and stronger systems to identify threats before they spread widely.
