Neil deGrasse Tyson

Neil deGrasse Tyson (born 1958) is an American astrophysicist and science communicator. He is director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, where he has led public outreach efforts in astronomy. Tyson has written widely for general audiences, including books such as *Astrophysics for People in a Hurry*, and has been a prominent voice in media and education. He hosted the television series *Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey* (2014), a continuation of Carl Sagan’s original *Cosmos*. Through lectures, writing, and broadcasting, he advocates for scientific literacy and curiosity about the universe.
