Neil Tyson

Neil deGrasse Tyson (born 1958) is an American astrophysicist, science communicator, and author. He earned degrees from Harvard University (BA), the University of Texas at Austin (MA), and Columbia University (PhD). Tyson has served as director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, where he also works as a research associate in astrophysics. He became widely known for bringing astronomy to broad audiences through books, lectures, and media appearances. Tyson hosted the television series *Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey* and the radio show *StarTalk*. He has also advised on public science education initiatives.
