Nicole Krauss

Nicole Krauss (born 1974) is an American novelist and short story writer. She is the author of the novels *Man Walks into a Room* (2002), *The History of Love* (2005), *Great House* (2010), *Forest Dark* (2017), and *To Be a Man* (2020). Her fiction often explores memory, loss, identity, and the afterlives of books and objects, moving between intimate lives and larger histories. Krauss has also written essays and short fiction for major publications. Born in New York City, she studied at Stanford University and later earned an MFA from the University of Iowa’s Writers’ Workshop. She lives in New York.
