Nolan Bushnell

Nolan Bushnell (born 1943) is an American entrepreneur and engineer known for helping launch the video game industry. He co-founded Atari, Inc. in 1972, where the company’s early arcade success helped popularize electronic games. In 1977 he founded Pizza Time Theatre, the restaurant-and-arcade concept that became known as Chuck E. Cheese. Bushnell has also been involved in a range of other technology and entertainment ventures and is frequently cited for his role in bringing arcade gaming into mainstream culture. He was inducted into the Video Game Hall of Fame in 2017.
