Nora Ephron

Nora Ephron (1941–2012) was an American journalist, essayist, screenwriter, and film director. After early work in journalism, she became widely known for sharp, personal essays and memoirs that blended humor with candid observation. Ephron also shaped modern romantic comedy through her screenwriting, including *When Harry Met Sally...* (1989), and through films she directed, such as *Sleepless in Seattle* (1993) and *You’ve Got Mail* (1998). Her writing often explored love, aging, and the everyday dramas of contemporary life. Ephron’s distinctive voice made her a prominent figure in American popular culture and letters.
