Patrick Rothfuss

Patrick James Rothfuss (born June 6, 1973) is an American fantasy novelist best known for *The Kingkiller Chronicle*. He debuted with *The Name of the Wind* (2007), followed by *The Wise Man’s Fear* (2011), both centered on the musician and magician Kvothe. Rothfuss also wrote the novella *The Slow Regard of Silent Things* (2014) and the short story “The Lightning Tree” (2014). He studied at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and later at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Beyond fiction, he has been active in charity work, founding Worldbuilders, a fundraiser supporting Heifer International.
