Paul Bloom

Paul Bloom (born 1963) is a Canadian-American psychologist and cognitive scientist. He is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Yale University, where his research has focused on child development, morality, and empathy, as well as how people understand minds and make judgments about right and wrong. Bloom is the author of *Against Empathy: The Case for Rational Compassion* and other books for general readers. He has written for *The New Yorker* and contributed essays and commentary on psychology and public life. Bloom has also appeared as a guest on the podcast *The Psychology Podcast*, discussing topics in cognitive science and moral psychology.
