Paul Freund

Paul A. Freund (1908–1992) was an American legal scholar and longtime professor at Harvard Law School. A leading authority on constitutional law, he wrote and taught on the Supreme Court, civil liberties, and the structure of American government. Freund was widely known for clear, influential commentary on major constitutional controversies and for shaping generations of lawyers through his teaching. He served in public roles during World War II, including work connected to the U.S. government, and later contributed to legal reform and professional organizations.
