Paul Harvey

As a young boy, Paul Harvey liked making radio receivers. His first job in radio was at KVOO in Tulsa, Oklahoma at age 14. He was then a station manager for KFBI AM in Salina, Kansas, a newscaster at KOMA in Oklahoma City, and a roving reporter for KXOK in St. Louis. In 1944, Harvey started broadcasting for the ABC affiliate WENR in Chicago. At the height of his career, Harvey’s programs reached as many as 24 million people a week. In the latter half of his career, Harvey was best known for his radio series, The Rest of the Story, which aired from 1976 until his death in 2009.
