Paul Hornung

Paul Hornung (1935–2020) was an American football player best known as a halfback and placekicker for the Green Bay Packers. A standout at the University of Notre Dame, he won the Heisman Trophy in 1956. Drafted by Green Bay in 1957, Hornung became a key figure in the Packers’ dynasty under coach Vince Lombardi. He was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1961 and helped the team win multiple championships, including victories in Super Bowl I and Super Bowl II. Hornung was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986.
