Paul McCartney

Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He co-founded the Beatles in 1960 with John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, and became one of the group’s principal songwriters and vocalists. After the Beatles’ breakup, he formed the band Wings in 1971 with Linda McCartney, Denny Laine, and others, achieving major commercial success. McCartney has also maintained a long solo career, releasing numerous albums and touring internationally. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1965 and was knighted in 1997 for services to music.
