Paul Simon

Paul Simon (born 1941) is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He rose to prominence as half of the duo Simon & Garfunkel, whose recordings include “The Sound of Silence,” “Mrs. Robinson,” and “Bridge over Troubled Water.” After the duo’s initial breakup, Simon built a major solo career, releasing albums such as *Paul Simon* (1972) and *Still Crazy After All These Years* (1975). His 1986 album *Graceland* drew on South African musical influences and became one of his best-known works. Simon has also written for musical theater, including *The Capeman* (1998).
