Pete Best

Pete Best (born 24 November 1941) is an English musician best known as the original drummer for the Beatles. He played with the group from 1960 to 1962, including their early performances in Liverpool and their residencies in Hamburg, Germany. Best was dismissed shortly before the band’s first major recording successes, and Ringo Starr became the Beatles’ drummer. After leaving the Beatles, Best performed with other groups, including the Pete Best Band, and later worked outside the music industry. In the 1990s he returned to public attention through interviews and releases documenting the Beatles’ early years.
