Peter Norvig

Peter Norvig (born 1956) is an American computer scientist and artificial intelligence researcher. He is known for co-authoring the widely used textbook *Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach* (with Stuart Russell). Norvig worked at Google, where he served as Director of Research. His career has also included work in industry and research labs focused on AI and computing. Norvig has written and spoken extensively on topics such as machine learning, programming, and the history and practice of artificial intelligence. Through his research leadership and publications, he has been an influential figure in bringing AI methods into large-scale, real-world applications and in shaping how AI is taught.
