Peter van Uhm

Peter van Uhm (born 1955) is a Dutch retired lieutenant general who served as Commander of the Netherlands Armed Forces (Chief of Defence) from 2008 to 2012. He joined the Royal Netherlands Army in the 1970s and held a range of command and staff posts, including senior leadership roles in the Dutch armed forces. After leaving active service, he became known in the Netherlands as a public speaker on leadership, security, and the moral dimensions of military service, drawing on his experience in defence and international operations. He has also written and contributed to publications on leadership and security-related themes.
