Rajneesh
Osho (born Chandra Mohan Jain; 1931–1990), also known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, was an Indian spiritual teacher and founder of the Rajneesh movement. After studying philosophy, he taught at the University of Jabalpur and became known in the 1960s for lectures that challenged religious orthodoxy and promoted meditation and personal freedom. In 1974 he established an ashram in Pune, India, which later became the Osho International Meditation Resort. In 1981 he moved to the United States, where his community developed in Oregon as Rajneeshpuram. Following legal controversies, he left the U.S. in 1985 and returned to Pune, where he continued teaching until his death.
