Richard Farina
Richard Fariña (1937–1966) was an American novelist and folk musician associated with the 1960s folk revival. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he studied at Cornell University, where he began writing and became involved in campus literary life. Fariña married Mimi Baez, sister of singer Joan Baez, and the couple performed together, recording the album *Celebrations for a Grey Day* (1965). His best-known book, the satirical campus novel *Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me*, was published in 1966. Fariña died in a motorcycle accident in Carmel, California, at age 29.
