Richard Le Gallienne
Richard Le Gallienne (1866–1947) was an English poet, critic, and essayist linked with the Aesthetic movement and the literary culture of the 1890s. Born in Liverpool, he became known in London for his verse and for writing on literature and art. He worked as a reviewer and editor, contributing to prominent periodicals, and published both poetry and prose, including essays and memoirs. In the early twentieth century he spent many years in the United States, where he continued to write and lecture. Le Gallienne also produced translations and introductions that helped shape contemporary tastes. He died in Menton, France, in 1947.
