Rick Pitino

Rick Pitino (born September 18, 1952) is an American basketball coach and author. He played college basketball at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and began his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Hawaii and Syracuse University. Pitino became a head coach at Boston University and Providence College before moving to the NBA, where he coached the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and later the Louisville men’s program. At Louisville, he led the Cardinals to the 2012 NCAA Final Four and the 2013 national championship, later vacated by the NCAA. He has written books on leadership and coaching.
