Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan (Richard Russell Riordan Jr., born June 5, 1964) is an American author known for myth-inspired fiction for young readers. Before writing full time, he taught English and history in Texas. He gained wide recognition with *Percy Jackson & the Olympians*, beginning with *The Lightning Thief* (2005), which follows a modern demigod navigating Greek mythology. Riordan expanded this universe through series such as *The Heroes of Olympus*, *The Kane Chronicles* (Egyptian mythology), *Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard* (Norse mythology), and *The Trials of Apollo*. He also created the *Rick Riordan Presents* imprint to spotlight diverse mythologies and authors.
