Rick Springfield

Richard Lewis Springthorpe (born August 23, 1949), known professionally as Rick Springfield, is an Australian-born musician, singer-songwriter, and actor who later became a U.S. citizen. He began his career in Australia in the late 1960s, first gaining attention with the pop-rock band Zoot before launching a solo career. Springfield achieved major international success in the early 1980s, including the hit single “Jessie’s Girl,” and has continued recording and touring for decades. As an actor, he has appeared in television and film, including a long-running role on the daytime drama *General Hospital*. He is also the author of the memoirs *Late, Late at Night* and *Magnificent Vibration*.
