Robert Heinlein

Robert A. Heinlein (1907–1988) was an American science fiction writer whose influential novels helped shape modern genre literature. Born in Butler, Missouri, he served in the U.S. Navy before turning to writing. Heinlein gained wide recognition for combining technological speculation with social and political ideas, often through tightly plotted adventure narratives. His major works include *Stranger in a Strange Land* (1961), *Starship Troopers* (1959), and *The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress* (1966). He also wrote acclaimed juvenile science fiction for younger readers. Heinlein received multiple Hugo Awards and was named the first Science Fiction Writers of America Grand Master.
