Rod Taylor

Rod Taylor (1930–2015) was an Australian actor whose career spanned film and television. Born in Sydney, New South Wales, he moved to the United States and became a prominent leading man in the early 1960s. Taylor starred as George in George Pal’s science-fiction classic *The Time Machine* (1960) and played Mitch Brenner opposite Tippi Hedren in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller *The Birds* (1963). He also appeared in Disney’s *One Hundred and One Dalmatians* (1961), providing the voice of Pongo. Over decades he worked steadily in Hollywood, later taking character roles and guest parts on television.
