Ross Perot

H. Ross Perot (1930–2019) was an American businessman, philanthropist, and political candidate. He founded Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in 1962 and later established Perot Systems in 1988, building a reputation as a pioneering figure in information technology services. Perot became nationally prominent for his independent presidential campaigns in 1992 and 1996, emphasizing fiscal discipline, opposition to the federal deficit, and government reform. In 1995 he founded the Reform Party, which later nominated him in 1996. Known for his plainspoken style and use of charts in televised addresses, Perot also supported numerous charitable and veterans’ causes.
