Ruth Warrick

Ruth Warrick (1916–2005) was an American actress and singer. She appeared in film, radio, and television, and is widely remembered for two landmark roles. In Orson Welles’s 1941 film *Citizen Kane*, she played Emily Norton Kane, the first wife of Charles Foster Kane. Decades later, she became a familiar presence on daytime television as Phoebe Tyler Wallingford on the ABC soap opera *All My Children*, a role she played for many years. Warrick also performed on Broadway and worked in musical theater, reflecting her training and experience as a vocalist as well as an actor.
