Saki
Hector Hugh Munro (1870–1916), who wrote under the pen name Saki, was a British writer best known for his short stories and satirical wit. Born in Burma (then part of British India), he was educated in England and later worked as a journalist and foreign correspondent. Munro’s fiction often portrays the manners and hypocrisies of Edwardian society, combining polished prose with dark humor and sudden reversals. His collections include *Reginald* (1904) and *The Chronicles of Clovis* (1911). During the First World War he enlisted in the British Army and was killed in action in France in 1916.
