Sarah Kay

Sarah Kay (born 1988) is an American spoken-word poet and educator. She is the founder and co-director of Project VOICE, an organization that uses poetry workshops and performances to promote literacy and self-expression. Kay gained wide recognition through her TED Talk “If I should have a daughter,” which helped introduce her work to a global audience. She has performed at venues and festivals internationally and is known for poems that blend personal narrative with social observation. Kay is the author of the poetry collection *No Matter the Wreckage*, among other books, and continues to write, perform, and teach.
