Scott Elledge

Scott Elledge (1920–1983) was an American literary scholar and biographer noted for his work on the writer E. B. White. He helped shape modern understanding of White’s life and career through careful editorial and biographical research. Elledge served as co-editor of *The Letters of E. B. White*, a major collection that brings together White’s correspondence and illuminates his voice beyond his published essays and books. Through his scholarship, Elledge contributed to the study of twentieth-century American letters and to the preservation and interpretation of an influential author’s literary legacy.
