Shimon Schocken

Shimon Schocken is an Israeli computer scientist and educator. He co-authored (with Noam Nisan) *The Elements of Computing Systems*, a widely used textbook that guides learners through building a computer system from basic logic gates up to a simple operating system and compiler. Schocken is also a co-founder of Nand2Tetris, an educational nonprofit initiative based on the book’s hands-on curriculum, which teaches computer architecture and software construction through project-based learning. Through his writing and teaching, he has helped make core ideas in computing accessible to students and self-learners worldwide.
