Sid Caeser

Isaac Sidney Caesar was born to Russian immigrants in Yonkers, New York in 1922. At the restaurant run by his parents, Caesar learned at a young age how to mimic accents, a skill he would later use in his acting career. Caesar left home after high school to pursue a career in music, working as a saxophonist and also performing comedy. With his wife Florence, Caesar moved to Hollywood after WWII, and Caesar started appearing as a comic actor in movies and television. He became best known for his 1950s TV series Your Show of Shows and Caesar’s Hour. Caesar has also written two autobiographies.
