Sidney Greenberg

Sidney Greenberg was a rabbi, public speaker, and author. The native New Yorker graduated from Yeshiva University and Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he received his Doctor of Hebrew Literature Degree. During WWII, Greenberg served as an army chaplain. Greenberg spent the bulk of his career as a rabbi – 50 years – at the Temple Sinai. Greenberg also wrote multiple books on prayer and Judaism and was one of Conservative Judaism’s most respected authors. Moreover, Greenberg was known for his inspiring sermons. He died in 2003 at age 85 and was survived by his wife of 60 years, Hilda.
