Simon Kinberg

Simon Kinberg (born August 2, 1973) is an American screenwriter, producer, and director. He wrote or co-wrote major studio films including *Mr. & Mrs. Smith* (2005), *Sherlock Holmes* (2009), and *X-Men: Days of Future Past* (2014), and served as a producer on multiple entries in the *X-Men* franchise as well as *Deadpool* (2016). Kinberg created the Fox television series *The Gifted* (2017–2019) and was an executive producer on it. He made his feature directorial debut with *Dark Phoenix* (2019). He has also produced films such as *The Martian* (2015).
