Stanley McChrystal

Stanley A. McChrystal (born 1954) is a retired U.S. Army four-star general and an author known for writing on leadership and organizational management. He served in the U.S. Army for more than three decades and held senior command roles, including leading the Joint Special Operations Command. From 2009 to 2010, he commanded U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. After retiring from the military, he co-founded the McChrystal Group, a leadership consulting firm. McChrystal is the author of *Team of Teams: New Rules of Engagement for a Complex World* (2015), which draws on his military experience to discuss adaptability, teamwork, and decision-making in complex environments.
