Stephen Colbert

Stephen Tyrone Colbert (born May 13, 1964) is an American comedian, writer, producer, political satirist, and television host. He gained national attention as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s *The Daily Show* before creating and starring in *The Colbert Report* (2005–2014), where he portrayed a parody of a conservative pundit. In 2015, Colbert succeeded David Letterman as host of CBS’s *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert*. He has also written satirical books, including *I Am America (And So Can You!)* (2007), credited to his on-screen persona, and *America Again* (2012), co-authored with his show’s writers.
