Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin (1962–2006) was an Australian wildlife expert, conservationist, and television personality best known as “The Crocodile Hunter.” Raised around reptiles and other animals, he built his career at what became Australia Zoo in Queensland, working alongside his wife, Terri Irwin. Irwin gained international fame through the television series *The Crocodile Hunter*, which showcased hands-on encounters with wildlife and promoted conservation. He also appeared in related programs and a feature film, and he supported habitat protection through conservation initiatives linked to Australia Zoo. Irwin died in 2006 after being injured by a stingray while filming in the Great Barrier Reef region.
