Steve Sabol

Steve Sabol (1946–2012) was an American sports executive and filmmaker best known for shaping the style and reach of NFL Films. He joined the company founded by his father, Ed Sabol, and became its longtime president, helping turn game coverage into cinematic storytelling. Sabol served as a producer and narrator on numerous NFL highlight films, pairing dramatic narration with music, slow motion, and tightly edited visuals that influenced modern sports media. Under his leadership, NFL Films expanded its library and won multiple Emmy Awards. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a contributor in 2011.
