Steven Wright

Steven Wright was born and raised in Massachusetts. His father had worked in electronics testing for the Apollo program before becoming a truck driver when Apollo ended. After college, Steven worked as a stand-up comic in the late 197os, before being discovered by a producer for The Tonight Show in 1982. After his initial appearance on The Tonight Show, Wright proved so impressive that he was brought back a week later. After these appearances, he became a regular on the college circuit and released a comedy album entitled I Have a Pony, which led to an HBO comedy special. He also made a short film, “The Appointments of Dennis Jennings,” in 1988. He is a regular guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
