Sugata Mitra
Sugata Mitra (born 1952) is an Indian educational researcher and professor best known for the “Hole in the Wall” experiments, which explored how children learn to use computers and the internet with little or no adult instruction. His work helped popularize the idea of minimally invasive education and later the concept of Self-Organized Learning Environments (SOLE), in which learners collaborate to investigate questions using digital resources. Mitra has presented his ideas internationally, including in widely viewed talks, and has written about technology’s potential to expand access to learning. His research focuses on curiosity-driven, peer-supported learning in real-world settings.
