T. H. White

T. H. White, an author best known for his Arthurian novels, was born in Bombay, British India to English parents. He was educated at Cheltenham College in Gloucestershire, England and at Queens’ College, Cambridge. After graduating, White wrote a memoir, England Have My Bones (1936) and worked as a teacher. He then began working on a fantasy novel about the boyhood of King Arthur, titled The Sword in the Stone (1938). In 1939, White moved to Ireland, where he wrote two sequels to The Sword in the Stone; the three books were first published together, along with a fourth book, as The Once and Future King in 1958.
