Tanya Tucker

Tanya Tucker (born October 10, 1958) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Raised in Texas, she became a major star while still a teenager, breaking through with “Delta Dawn” (1972). She followed with a string of country hits that established her as one of the era’s most distinctive voices, including “What’s Your Mama’s Name” (1973) and “Blood Red and Goin’ Down” (1973). Over a career spanning decades, Tucker has recorded across traditional and contemporary country styles and is known for her bold, emotive delivery. In 2020, she won her first Grammy Awards for the album *While I’m Livin’* and its songs.
