Temple Grandin

Temple Grandin (born 1947) is an American animal scientist, professor, and autism advocate. She is a professor of animal science at Colorado State University and is widely known for improving livestock handling through practical facility and equipment designs that reduce animal stress. Grandin has consulted for the meat industry and has written extensively on animal behavior and welfare. She is also a prominent voice on autism, drawing on her own experience as an autistic person. Her books include *Thinking in Pictures* (1995), which helped bring public attention to autistic perspectives, and later works on both autism and animal welfare.
