Thomas Heatherwick

Thomas Heatherwick (born 1970) is a British designer and architect and the founder of Heatherwick Studio, a London-based practice established in 1994. Educated at Manchester Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art, he is known for work that spans architecture, product design, and public art. Major projects include the UK Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai, the Olympic Cauldron for the London 2012 Games, and Vessel at Hudson Yards in New York City. He has also designed the New Routemaster bus for London and the Garden Bridge proposal. Heatherwick was appointed a CBE in 2013.
