Thomas Tusser
Thomas Tusser (c. 1524–1580) was an English poet and farmer remembered chiefly for his didactic verse on rural life. Born in Essex, he was educated at Eton College and later at King’s College, Cambridge, and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. After time in musical service, he turned to farming and managed holdings in several parts of England, experiences that shaped his writing. In 1557 he published *A Hundreth Good Pointes of Husbandrie*, later expanded as *Five Hundred Points of Good Husbandry*, a popular compendium of practical advice, seasonal tasks, and moral counsel in rhyming couplets. He died in London in 1580.
