Tracy Lauren Marrow (born February 16, 1958), known professionally as Ice-T, is an American rapper, songwriter, actor, and author. Emerging from Los Angeles’s hip-hop scene in the 1980s, he helped popularize West Coast rap with albums such as *Rhyme Pays* and *Power*. His 1991 track “O.G. Original Gangster” and the controversial “Cop Killer” (with his metal-rap band Body Count) made him a prominent, often debated cultural figure. As an actor, he is widely known for playing Detective/Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola on NBC’s *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*. He has also written memoir and nonfiction books.
