Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks (born December 4, 1973) is an American model, television personality, producer, and author. She began modeling as a teenager and became one of the most prominent figures in fashion, working for major designers and appearing on magazine covers. Banks expanded into television as the creator and host of the reality competition series *America’s Next Top Model*, which she also executive produced. She later hosted her daytime talk show *The Tyra Banks Show*, winning two Daytime Emmy Awards. Banks has acted in film and television and has written books, including the novel *Modelland*. She is also known for entrepreneurship and advocacy around self-image.
