Victor Borge

Victor Borge (born Børge Rosenbaum, 1909–2000) was a Danish-American comedian, pianist, and entertainer celebrated for blending classical music with sharp satire. Trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, he built an early career as a concert pianist in Denmark. Fleeing Nazi-occupied Europe in 1940, he settled in the United States, where his witty English-language routines and musical parodies made him a radio and television favorite. His long-running Broadway show *Comedy in Music* helped cement his international fame. Borge became known for playful audience interaction, “phonetic punctuation,” and virtuosic piano performances delivered with impeccable comic timing.
